Preventive Maintenance Software for Plants

A 52-week preventive-maintenance program per factory, with checklists, work orders on the due date and planned-versus-done compliance.

What preventive maintenance is, and why a spreadsheet stops working

Preventive maintenance is the work done on a schedule to stop a machine failing: inspections, lubrication, filter and belt changes, calibrations. Most plants start the schedule in a spreadsheet. It works until the second line, the third shift or the first time the person who owns the sheet is on leave. Then tasks are missed, nobody can prove what was done, and the crew is back to fixing breakdowns.

Uptario replaces the sheet with a program the whole plant can see: an annual plan per machine, weekly schedules, checklists, work orders that create themselves, and a compliance number the maintenance manager can defend in the morning meeting.

How the program is built

  1. Asset list with criticality. Register every pump, motor, conveyor and CNC with its location, type and criticality. Criticality decides which machines get the tightest schedule and the first spare parts.
  2. PM tasks per machine. For each asset, the recurring tasks: what is checked, replaced or measured, how often, and the checklist the technician ticks. Start from the manufacturer's manual and the plant's own failure history.
  3. The 52-week plan. Lay the tasks across the year so no week is overloaded and shutdown work lands in the planned shutdown. Print the week's work list and checklists; the plan runs even on a day the network doesn't.
  4. Work orders on the due date. Each schedule creates its own work order on the day it is due, with the checklist attached. Nothing depends on someone remembering.
  5. Compliance, planned versus done. Track PM compliance week by week per plant and per line. A falling compliance number is the earliest warning that the crew is back in firefighting mode.

What the crew gets

  • The week's work list and checklists, printable or on the technician app
  • Work orders with the asset's history and the parts it usually needs
  • Backlog and unplanned-event tracking next to the planned work
  • PM compliance charts per plant and per line
  • Condition-based work orders from sensor readings when you add monitoring

We set it up with you

As a service, we build the 52-week plan per machine with your team, import the asset list and existing schedules, and train the crew, so the program is in real use from week one. When the plan is running, the next step is predictive maintenance: readings from the machine deciding when the work happens.
